1. Your records stay on your phone
Desktop N Shop has no server account. Products, bills, customers, suppliers, expenses, HR records, My Shop details, loans and documents are saved only on the device where you enter them. Desktop N Draw cannot see, read or recover them.
2. Encryption
All records and documents are encrypted on the phone with AES-256-GCM. The key is protected by your password (PBKDF2-SHA-256, 600,000 rounds) and by your Recovery Key. The password and Recovery Key are never stored. The app locks automatically when not used and when it stays in the background.
If you forget the password and lose the Recovery Key, nobody can open the records — not even Desktop N Draw.
3. Backups are your responsibility
If the phone is lost, reset or the browser data is cleared, records can only come back from a backup file you downloaded (Settings → Download encrypted backup). The backup file is encrypted too and opens with the password (or Recovery Key) that was in use when it was made. CSV exports are not encrypted — share them carefully.
4. No tracking, no ads
The app loads nothing from other websites: no analytics, no advertising, no Google Fonts, no outside scripts. Internet is needed only to install or update the app. WhatsApp / share buttons open only when you tap them, and only send the text you see.
5. Camera
The camera is used only when you tap “Start Camera” (barcode scanning) or take a document photo. Images are not uploaded anywhere.
6. Sensitive details
Aadhaar, PAN, bank and employee details are optional. Collect them only when really needed and with the person's knowledge. Follow the labour, tax and data-protection rules that apply to your business (including India's DPDP Act).
7. Not professional advice
Reports, “net cash”, loan balances and payslips are calculated from the data you enter and may not match accounting, tax or legal requirements. Check important figures with your accountant / CA. GST invoices: verify the format required for your registration.
